Urbana, IL (News-Gazette) — Democrat Annie Adams announced her plans to seek the nomination Friday.

“I am running for mayor to build a resilient, thriving and welcoming city for all,” said Adams, who works in marketing and communications for the University of Illinois' Grainger College of Engineering. “I will advocate for the people of Urbana's right to safety, dignity and prosperity and the fair and respectful treatment of our city employees. We all belong here and deserve a voice in our government."
